Policy: Azure > CIS v5.0 > 3 - Compute Services > 3.01 - Virtual Machines > 3.01.01 - Ensure only MFA enabled identities can access privileged Virtual Machine > Attestation

By setting this policy, you attest that you have manually verified that it complies with the relevant section of the CIS Benchmark.

Verification Steps: 1. Identify all users with privileged access to Azure Virtual Machines (VM Contributor role, custom roles, JIT access, etc.) 2. Verify that each identified user has MFA enabled in Microsoft Entra ID 3. Review organizational policy documents requiring MFA for VM access 4. Confirm enforcement mechanisms are in place (Conditional Access policies, Azure AD Identity Protection, etc.)

Once verified, enter the date that this attestation expires. Note that the date can not be further in the future than is specified in report level Maximum Attestation Duration policy. Set to a blank value to clear the attestation.
